Sounds like fun. And as a hamakko (albeit non-native) I can attest that Yokohama is an absolutely amazing place to walk and take photos. Would be a shame not to keeping on walking just a few minutes to Osanbashi Pier to get guaranteed amazing shots of Yokohama bay and the pier, and maybe a few beers : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osanbashi_Pier

I heard they had dismantled that dreary movie theater. Has the Showa-period like deserted back street changed?

Should be fun to walk from Kogane-cho to tourist attraction Yokohama.
