We had a typewriter when I was young, then a word processor, the finally computers. The progression of technology.

Hope you keep this and look after it, I always reckon this is the stuff of tomorrows antique shows

It isn't mine. It sits on a desk at my local library, apart from all the computers. But you're right, not many use typewriters anymore.

This is a great shot! I love vintage/old things, and this is just that!

We have a really old typewriter somewhere out in the garage. I'm going to have to dig it out and get some shots of it sometime.

The IBM Selectric was a superb series of typewriters. In some ways, I miss them. Somethings, such as envelopes and labels, were much simpler to do in a typewriter than in a laserjet.

I had a typewriter at home as a kid. The word processor was terribly annoying. The beastly thing erased my report three times.. fortunately more modern computers came to the rescue. I also added a portal. If you want, you can put one on mine. :)

Thank God those days are over! When I started working [grandad flat cap mode on], only about 25 years ago, fax machines were about the size of a decent table. Mind you, at least people worked back then - they just type and look busy surfing the web nowadays!

I actually collect video games from days gone by. I have liking for Japanese SEGA Genesis games. I currently have around 100 now and I still have a couple Genesis on which to play them from time to time :)

I had a Genesis, and I loved it. No Japanese games, though. My favorite was Columns, because I was really good at it. It would be fun to go back and play it again, if I still had it.

Terribly important update: I still have my Genesis and games, and I shall have to play them very soon.
